Stephen, 52, who split from his husband Daniel, 43, only last month, is hoping to give love another stab on the E4 reality show.

The Sun has learnt the hairdresser was scouted by bosses after announcing he was back on the market – with Stephen more than happy to get onboard.

A TV insider told us: “Stephen is set to sign up for Celebs Go Dating after successful advanced talks with E4 producers.

“Bosses were really keen to get him as soon as they heard he and Stephen had split as they know viewers will invest in his path to finding love again, and he’s already a big favourite with Channel 4 viewers after years on Gogglebox.

“Stephen is also really keen to have some fun again after a difficult few months, and he’s also raring to get back on TV after having to step down from Dancing on Ice due to injury.

“He was gutted when that fell through, but he feels excited to take on a new project.

“He is realistic that he may not find Mr Right but he is up for a laugh on the dating scene.”

Celebs Go Dating follows a group of single stars as they look for love, with a bit of help from dating experts Anna Williamson and Paul Brunson.

While a return date has not yet been confirmed, series 12 premiered in September 2023.

Other stars who are understood to have held meetings with producers include Made in Chelsea’s Tristan Phipps, original Love Island icon Hannah Elizabeth and MAFS bride Ella Morgan.

The Sun has contacted a show rep for comment.

Stephen, who has appeared on Gogglebox for over a decade, has remained on friendly terms with his ex Daniel, with whom he runs a hair salon.

He shot to fame on the original 2013 Gogglebox with his former boyfriend, Chris Ashby-Steed, who left the show amid feuding.

Stephen went on to film with his late mum, Pat, then Daniel before the couple left last year.

Their split came as Stephen was due to feature on Dancing On Ice this year — but was forced to pull out after breaking an ankle.

He was replaced on the ITV show by Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards.

Gogglebox stars Stephen and Daniel's relationship timeline

Hairdressing duo Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig got engaged back in 2016 and married two years later.

The couple co-own a hair salon and live in a £575,000 property on Brighton’s sought after seafront.

At the time of the engagement, Stephen appeared on Gogglebox alongside his ex-boyfriend Chris Ashby-Steed.

In 2019, Daniel made his Gogglebox debut and was immediately a big hit.

Chris, who is now in a happy relationship with husband Tony, spoke publicly about how the show affected his mental health.

Having relocated to Wales and quit showbiz, Chris said he was racked with anxiety during his time on the programme.

Just last year Daniel and Stephen shocked Gogglebox fans when they announced they were leaving the programme. Daniel had been part of the show since its launch in 2013.

Their departure opened up a new world of opportunity for the duo and it was soon announced that Stephen would take part in Dancing on Ice. But disaster struck and injury ruled him out before the live shows.

There were further gasps of shock in April when we revealed the pair had split up. They vowed to remain friends and looked to be true to their word, sharing a smiley picture the following day with Stephen’s mum on the seafront.
