EASTENDERS fans have been left demanding that one show character be axed amid a heartbreaking betrayal with Yolande Trueman.
Yolande has been suffering over the past few weeks in Walford on the BBC soap opera following her horror attack from the evil Pastor Gideon Clayton.
He inappropriately touched her leaving her scarred and “ashamed” that it had happened to her.
In the aftermath, with only Elaine knowing before she confessed all to Patrick in an emotional two-hander episode, Yolande has been attempting to navigate her feelings all on her own.
She recently booked a doctor’s appointment but decided not to go after her family and friends grew concern over his unusual behaviour.
Whilst she kept it hidden, one character did the ultimate betrayal by spilling the beans to her husband Patrick.
NHS worker Sonia Fowler brazenly spoke in public about Yolande and her cancelled appointment as she broke her patient confidentiality without a care in the world.
She treated the news like hot gossip as she relished in telling Patrick that she had failed to attend.
Sonia said: “I just wanted to check how Yolande is, is she ok?
“I’m sure its nothing, it’s just that, I haven’t seen her around much lately.”
Pregnant Sonia went on to tell Patrick that Yolande could “re-book her appointment online” but he was none the wiser.
It left him triggered to get to the route cause of her behaviour as he found out later that day just what had been going on.
However, fans were furious at the way Sonia acted as they insisted her time on EastEnders was up after such a stupid mistake.
Writing online, one said: “Sonia breaks patient confidentiality daily. Get her gone. Interfering woman.”
Whilst another echoed: “Firstly what the f*** is Sonia doing? Going around blabbing? Whatever happened to patient confidentiality?
“Yolande’s a grown woman, if she doesn’t wana attend a appointment that’s her decision.”
Yolande finally opened up to Patrick about her assault last night in a tear-jerking episode.
