ANXIOUS Clarkson’s Farm viewers are piecing together what has happened to beloved Gerald Cooper following his devastating prostate cancer diagnosis.
The Amazon Prime Video documentary, which launched in 2021, follows Jeremy Clarkson’s experience running a farm in the Cotswolds.
Gerald has been a fan-favourite on Clarkson’s Farm since the first series[/caption] Jeremy appointed Gerald as the farm’s ‘head of security’[/caption]Gerald, Diddly Squat Farm’s ‘head of security’, has been a key cast member since the first series.
At the end of series three’s first episode, Jeremy gets a call informing him of Gerald’s cancer diagnosis aged 74.
The following episode reveals to viewers that Gerald has prostate cancer and is ‘terrified’.
Jeremy explained to fans: “Gerald has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
“I’ve been phoning round, doctors and things I know and his odds are really good, but it’s scaring him to death.
“I know he doesn’t understand and he’s bewildered, for obvious reasons. Somebody says, ‘sorry it’s cancer’, that’s all he heard. He’s desperately upset and terrified, poor man.”
Jeremy received the news in series 3’s first episode – believed to have been filmed in late 2022[/caption]Filming for Clarkson’s Farm 3 is believed to have taken place between autumn 2022 and spring 2023, with one clue being a reference to ‘Prime Minister Liz Truss’.
Fans are worried about what has happened to Gerald as Jeremy Clarkson is yet to make a public announcement about his co-star’s condition.
However other viewers have found evidence of Gerald having received better news.
One wrote: “We see him regularly in a local coffee shop, he looks well!”
Another commented: “You can see him in Jeremy’s instagram when they wrapped season 3, so he was up and about at the end of filming at least.”
Prompting a third to reply: “Thank God for that – I’ve been worried sick.”
Aside from these observations, viewers also noticed Gerald had been spotted in public supporting co-star Kaleb Cooper (no relation) on his national tour this year.
In February, Kaleb toured his The World According to Kaleb shows in theatres around the country.
Gerald and Cheerful’ Charlie Ireland were snapped at the show in support of Kaleb.
