CORONATION Street legend Sue revealed she has a soap star neighbour away from Weatherfield – her beloved on-screen son Ryan Thomas.
The iconic Eileen Grimshaw character has been temporarily written out of the show to appear on stage at Glasgow‘s King’s Theatre for Sister Act: The Musical.
Corrie‘s fictional taxi cab operator temporarily left the soap after racing to Thailand following son Jason’s broken back horror.
However she revealed details of her return to the much-loved ITV drama.
She said: “I’ll be back filming on the Cobbles in June, I’ve got another few weeks yet.
“I’ve got no idea what storylines Eileen will be involved in, I’ve not been there for a while.
“I still see Ryan, we’re in touch. He was a guest on Loose Women, as I’m a panellist on there.
“I’m still in touch with him he doesn’t live too far from me.”
The veteran actor is making a return to the notorious Manchester street in the coming week
But it looks unlikely former Celebrity Big Brother star Ryan will be by her side.
Sue added: “I’m not sure if the mother-son duo will be reunited on screen – you’ll have to ask Ryan what his plans are.”
Meanwhile Sue will kick back in the Scottish Highlands after returning to the stage following a 30-year hiatus.
The soap star-turned-sister said: “I used to live in Scotland when I was a child, I lived a lot further north so I’m no stranger.
“I’ve done all the north-west of Scotland when I was here last year. I love the scenery in Scotland, I love the west coast and the lochs, the Isle of Skye. I’m hoping to get back and do some more islands.”
Sue has played the role of taxi cab operator Eileen on the Manchester soap since 1994.
The blonde bombshell has been involved in a string of nailbiting storylines including endless lovers and countless Rovers Return bust-ups.
