However, all is not well on Diddly Squat as the first episode of the new series shows Jeremy in complete anguish.

The 64-year-old confessed he can no longer keep all his cows on the farm after the local council ordered him to close down the restaurant he opened on the site.

He couldn’t help but get emotional when he saw his animals being loaded onto the lorry one by one.

Jeremy remarked: “I’m finding today really quite sad as for the last year I’ve been opening the windows, opening the curtains in the morning and there are the cows. And I love that.

“Making cow noises. It just cheers my heart every morning to see them.”

Speaking to his land advisor Charlie, he asked what would happen to his beloved pet heifer Pepper.

Charlie replied: “I wouldn’t ask too many questions about Pepper. Don’t ask questions you don’t want to know the answers to.”

Completely taken aback by his comments, Jeremy was left practically speechless.

He simply said, “Oh Christ”, after an awkward moment of silence as the full realisation of the moment started to hit.

After a humorous home recording of the cows hijacking their garden was played, Jeremy then got even more emotional.

He and partner Lisa Hogan stood side by side as the Lorry carrying their 13 cows made its way down the country lane to the butchers.

Jeremy looked visibly emotional as he wrapped his arm around her.

He then rested his head against Lisa before turning to reveal a look of anguish on his face.

They pair walked away hand-in-hand as the microphones caught Jeremy appearing to fight back tears.

The former Top Gear presenter was seen falling instantly in love with the animal during the second series of the hit show.

This was after he was asked to take care of the cow by Rosie, the five-year-old daughter of the previous owner.

Jeremy previously hinted at tragedy with Pepper.

In an exclusive interview, we enquired about the well-being of the heifer and the connection he shared with her.

However, he ominously told us: “I soon wish I hadn’t … You’ll find out in the next series.”

“Oh God, is she dead?” we asked.

To which Clarkson replied: “Well, you’ll find out in the next series.”
