MASTERCHEF fans have been left hitting out at the show as it underwent yet another format change.

The BBC contest, fronted by John Torode and Gregg Wallace, has had fans divided over a number of format shake-ups this time around.

It’s latest twist has caused a stir among fans who were left branding the crop of contestants appearing “a load of rejects”.

In order to spice up the contest, BBC bosses are welcoming back past contestants who failed to make it past the semi-finals stage in the past.

It has seen many familiar faces attempt to have a second chance at gaining the MasterChef crowd.

This week’s successful candidates will continue on throughout the series alongside the other newbie contestants who have already secured their places in the latter stages of the cookery competition.

But the move has left many viewers sceptical and they were quick to uncover what they believe to be the ‘real reason’ the programme has adopted the twist.

Commenting on the show-first online, many suggested that the show has ran out of potential contestants as they suggested it had been forced to turn to those who have taken part before.

Hitting out on X – formerly Twitter – one viewer wrote: “I don’t like these ‘come back’ shows. Did they not have enough applicants this year or something?”

Another added: “Not sure what the comeback stuff is all about.”

A third wrote of the “wrong” twist: “#MasterChef they’re struggling for contestants that’s why they’ve brought them back still wrong though!”

Someone else penned: “Is #MasterChef running out of NEW contestants as it’s now bringing back participants from previous shows.”

A fifth then seethed: “Surely thay can get more contestants than this load of rejects.”

With another writing: “Oh hell its more rejects.”

On the programme – Linda, Ajay, Cliodhna, Tigi and Nathasha – all returned to the heat of the kitchen in an attempt to prove it could be second time lucky.

Of getting the chance to come back, Linda said: “I can’t believe I’ve been asked to come back.

“It’s another chance to try and win it!”

After rounds of cooking up various dishes – only three of them managed to make it through to the next stage of the contest.

Ajay was the first lucky hopeful and he was quickly joined by Cliodhna and Natasha.
