EASTENDERS fans have been left confused by a bizarre turn of events on the soap as Whitney Dean’s final storyline ramps up.
Actress Shona McGarty confirmed she would be leaving the BBC soap last year, and her final scenes are currently playing out.
Whitney Dean is illegally fostering a drug addict’s daughter[/caption] She moved Britney to Walford with her[/caption] Viewers have pointed out something strange about the teen’s biological mother[/caption]Whitney has recently faced some problems after deciding to illegally foster a teenage girl.
She was in Milton Keynes visiting a friend when she came across neglected young Britney, whose mum has addiction problems.
The pregnant woman was moved by a motherly impulse and offered Keeley thousands of pounds to take Britney home with her.
This decision put a strain on Whitney’s relationship with Zack, as he began to feel that she was prioritising the troubled teen over the couple’s unborn baby.
A new devastating twist saw Britney diagnosed with Usher Syndrome.
The genetic disease eventually leaves sufferers unable to see or hear, and is incurable.
After hearing the news the girl’s biological mother rushed to be by her side in Albert Square.
However, the soap’s audience at home found it strange that Keeley suddenly became a reliable parent after hearing about her daughter’s health condition.
Several people pointed out that she was meant to have financial difficulties due to her drug addiction, so it doesn’t make sense that she is able to afford several journeys between Milton Keynes and London at the drop of a hat.
One person questioned: “How does Keeley just keep materialising in Walford. It’s such a plot oversight. She’s supposed to be a junkie with no financial stability but she is somehow, very quickly, travelling from Milton Keynes to Walford, East London – just like that?”
“How is she getting there? Cab? train? Tardis? Just made me giggle the way they keep manifesting her presence. They’ll be like we need to get Keeley here and bam she’s there lol.”
Another baffled fan added: “Keeley can materialise at the drop of a hat but Zack couldn’t possibly leave Milton Keynes for five whole weeks to go back to work in Walford?”
Viewers are not sure how the character’s time on EastEnders will draw to a close yet, but Whitney’s exit should be revealed in the coming weeks.
