AN acclaimed BBC show is returning to screens in just a few weeks.
Series 14 of Doctor Who, which stars Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday, is set to premiere on Sunday 11 May with a double bill.

Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa made his debut as the Fifteenth Doctor in the Christmas special, The Church on Ruby Road, which aired on December 25, 2023. In it, he formed a friendship with Ruby Sunday, who is his new companion.
After a long wait, Ncuti and Millie are returning to the small screen for the new series of Doctor Who.
The BBC’s official synopsis for the upcoming season teases that “audiences will see the Doctor and Ruby travel through time and space on adventures to unknown lands, to the Regency era in England, to outer space worlds and the sixties.”
The first two episodes of series 14, Space Babies and The Devil’s Chord, will premiere together on BBC One on Saturday 11 May at 6:20pm and 7:05pm. They will also be available on BBC iPlayer from midnight on 11 May.
Episodes will drop on BBC iPlayer followed by a primetime slot on BBC One each week following that.
Outside the UK, Doctor Who begins streaming 10 May at 7pm ET on Disney+ where available, giving audiences a simultaneous global launch.
The double bill premiere will be followed up with a brand new episode of Doctor Who: Unleashed on BBC Three at8pm.
The spin-off series gives viewers a never before seen look at Ncuti’s adventures as the Time Lord.
Series 14 kicks off with a bang. Episode 1, Space Babies, which is directed by Julie Anne Robinson, welcomes Bridgerton star Golda Rosheuvel to the screen.
She joins Doctor Who as Jocelyn, who the Doctor and Ruby collide with on their first adventure in the TARDIS together.
Showrunner Russell T Davies gushed about Golda’s role, saying: “It’s been amazing to see the whole world appreciate Golda’s talents, because of Bridgerton, and it’s been an absolute joy to invite her to Cardiff to help launch Ncuti and Millie’s first season.”

Rounding out the explosive double bill is Jinkx Monsoon who guest stars in Episode 2, The Devil’s Chord, as the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet.
In this episode, the Doctor and Ruby step back to the sixties to meet The Beatles.
Over the rest of the season there are an array of guest stars jumping aboard the TARDIS, including Callie Cooke, Dame Siân Phillips, Alexander Devrient, Bhav Joshi, Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy, Tachia Newall and Caoilinn Springall.
New episodes will debut weekly, leading up to a massive two-part finale spread across two weeks titled The Legend of Ruby Sunday and Empire of Death.
