PATRICK Trueman is left devastated as he discovers the truth about what happened to partner Yolande in EastEnders.
Earlier this month, Yolande was subjected to a sexual assault at the hands of Pastor Clayton.
The devout churchgoer confided in Elaine Peacock in the immediate aftermath, but swore her to secrecy.
Yolande has struggled to hold it together in the weeks since, and her behaviour has left her loved ones baffled.
However, in upcoming EastEnders scenes, Patrick finally finds out the truth.
The week starts with Patrick worried sick about Yolande, especially after Sonia lets slip that she missed a medical appointment he didn’t know about.
Meanwhile, Denise is concerned that Yolande is a no-show at the launch of the food van, and suggests to Patrick that perhaps Pastor Clayton could help talk to her.
Patrick takes her advice and confides in Pastor Clayton, who implies that Yolande could be unwell.
During a heart-to-heart, Patrick tells Yolande about Pastor Clayton’s ‘concerns’ leaving Yolande furious.
However, Yolande can’t bring herself to tell Patrick the truth, so when Elaine rings to check on her, she asks her friend to do it instead.
Over the phone, Elaine gently explains what’s happened to a shell-shocked Patrick.
Trying to process the news, Patrick attempts to talk to Yolande, who locks herself in the bathroom but when Patrick’s anger kicks in, and he heads to confront Pastor Clayton, Yolande rushes to stop him.
Will Yolande finally be able to open up to Patrick about what happened to her?
And will she agree to speak out and try and bring her abuser to justice?
The scenes will air during a special double episode on May 7.
Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw told EastEnders fans: “When you have a story that deserves time and space to explore, and you have talent like Angela Wynter and Rudoph Walker, it felt only right to produce an EastEnders two-hander episode.
