WITH a once-reported £11million fortune it is no surprise that Tommy Mallet and Goergia Kousoulou have been able to splash out on a luxury £1m Essex mansion.

The entrepreneur has found success in the business world since his rise to fame on The Only Way Is Essex but recently confessed he had to “sell everything” after previously being hit by a huge tax bill.

Tommy and Georgia purchased their huge Essex home in 2021 and spent months renovating it to their own personal style and taste.

They splashed the cash to achieve a dreamy and enviable plush pad for themselves and their son Brody with the results being posted all over their home Instagram account.

The expansive kitchen features a marble island with an impressive chandelier hanging above it and double ovens.

There are huge floor to ceiling doors leading out onto the back garden – a sofa in one corner to watch TV and a large wooden dining room table.

The natural wood is offset with black details – including the chairs, coffee tables and even the window frames.

The couple’s bedroom is just as stylish, with neutral colours and a huge head board.

Their son Brody’s room features the same colour scheme but with brown accents, and numerous teddy bears.

He also has his very own playroom with wooden playhouse and slide  – despite the fact he’s not yet walking.

Other amazing details in the home include a smart utility room and an office for show designer Tommy – with floor to ceiling trainer storage.

Outside is jaw-dropping thanks to a wooden fence featuring outside art works and plenty of comfy yet stylish furniture.

Despite all the hard work and cash ploughed into the property, the couple have been hit by financial woes after Tommy confirmed he had “sold all [his] assets” after a “four-month battle”.

The reality TV star launched his successful business, Mallet London, in 2015.

He made millions in sales of trainers he designed and became one of the show’s most successful stars of all time thanks to his obsession with footwear.

Writing on Instagram, Tommy said: “It’s probably not over, but as it stands I can work and support my family.

“I’ve sold all my assets to defend myself and starting from scratch, but I’ve got some wonderful companies and I will give it my all to get it back so my family can continue living the life I worked so hard to give them.”

Tommy added: “Just call me the monk who’s sold his Ferrari for a bit.”

Tommy addressed this during an appearance on Brogan Garrit-Smith’s Getting There Podcast and also insisted he had “no money”.

The Baby Steps reality TV star, who shares son Brody, two, with 32-year-old Georgia spoke about his wife’s heartbreaking miscarriage at the same time.

He said: “I’ve got nothing financially at the moment.

“I basically made an acquisition in January, it was quite a big one and it was to buy some shares back for Mallet.

“I put money into Mallet to get my shares back up thinking that I was going to go and basically build the next year, just full force.

“And obviously, after seeing you, I lost the baby. That turned my whole world around and I was like, something needs to change.

“I basically started from scratch. I’ve got the biggest tax bill ever.”

Tommy Mallet's Business Journey

Tommy grew his brand and made his fortune from humble beginning that saw him grow up on a council estate in London

While Tommy might be living a life of luxury now; treating himself to a customised Ferrari and flying around the world – it wasn’t always like that for the dad-of-one.

He grew up on a council estate in North London and left school with no GCSEs.

His upbringing is what actually inspired him to create his footwear brand, as he was bullied at school for the clothes he wore.

The businessman said that he was humiliated when he was just 12 because his family couldn’t afford to buy him fashionable trainers.

He trained as a carpenter after school before joining the cast of Towie – which is where he met his fiancée Georgia.

Speaking about his childhood, he told MailOnline: “I feel like at one point in my life I definitely could have had the potential to go down the wrong path but ultimately, I knew that I wanted to do things the right way and to succeed.

“So staying on the right track was important to me.”

His shoe brand is favored by the likes of Drake, Olly Murs, Craig David, and Will.i.am.

He launched Mallet in 2015 and by 2020 the business had clocked up 11.8million sales.

His shoes and apparel is stocked in over 150 stores around the world, and that’s only going to increase.

Tommy, who made the Forbes 30 under 30 list, says he prefers to be known for his work rather than his time on Reality TV.
