George discovered he had been part of a baby farming scheme, before being left horrified to learn that he witnessed his adoptive dad Eddie kill his birth father in a racist attack when he was a teen.

Earlier this month, Eddie faced trial over the death of George’s real dad, and it put further strain on his relationship with his adoptive mum, Gloria.

It all became too much for Gloria, and she collapsed outside the courtroom, before passing away in hospital with George by her side.

In upcoming EastEnders scenes he’s left crushed when Gina and Anna break the news that Rufus held Gloria’s funeral without his knowledge.

Reeling, George challenges Rufus for a fight while the girls decide to organise a memorial service in The Vic for the grandmother.

George is left battered and bruised from his fight but things go from bad to worse when he gets dizzy and collapses.

Cindy and Phil then compel George to go to hospital with his injuries.

Once there, he’s given a CAT scan that reveals he’s developed a brain condition due to his boxing and multiple head injuries.

The dad-of-two is the given the shock news that one more bad knock to the head could kill him.

Elaine and the girls are left stunned but raging he’s been fighting behind their backs.

But despite George’s promises not to fight again, Cindy catches him being approached by Rufus who offers him money from the previous fight and asks for another one.

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday May 6 at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
